CBI announces cash reward against two in WB post poll violence case

New Delhi, Feb 4 (Agency) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced a cash reward for providing information against two accused who were allegedly involved in attack on house and murder during post poll violence in West Bengal. CBI sources said both, Jharna Mistry and Pratima Ghosh, have been absconding and declared as Proclaimed Offenders by the Court. Now CBI has announced a cash reward of Rs 50 thousand against each and it will be given by the CBI to anyone who will give information leading to their arrest.

Following the court order, CBI had registered a case on August 27 last year, and initiated a probe in West Bengal post poll violence incident. Initially, the case was registered by the local police on May 3 last year, the basis of a complaint from Shyamal Mandal. In the complaint, Mandal stated that some neighbours had allegedly entered his house and vandalised the household things, when his family members attempted to prevent them. The attackers allegedly beat them with lathis and bamboo which were carried by them. As a result, several family members were injured and hospitalized.
