Puducherry, Feb 28 (Agency) Police seized banned Gutka and Pan Parag from a lorry here late on Saturday night. According to police, subsequent to the announcement of Assembly election schedule, several flying squads along with police are on the rounds during night time to prevent the distribution of money and materials to the voters.
Such a flying squad intercepted a lorry on the Bharathi street from which sacks were being unloaded. The squad members checked it and found it to be banned items like Gutka and Pan Parag worth several lakhs of rupees. Police seized the items and the lorry driver, hailing from Hosur, was arrested.
