Hyderabad, Aug 9 (Agency) Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an Agriculture Officer working at Chandrugonda mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on the charges of receiving graft of Rs 90,000 from the complainant at the Agriculture extension office room on Monday. ”The accused officer Narlapati Mahesh Chandra Chaterjee was caught red-handed when he accepted the bribe from the complainant Godha Satyam for not inspecting the fertilisers and pesticides shops and 5 others of Chandrugonda village and not to trouble them in running their business,” ACB said in a release here.
The Agriculture Officer performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly and obtained undue advantage from the complainant, it added. The bribe amount was recovered from the accused officer. The Agriculture officer has been arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
