Mumbai, May 10 (FN Agency) Extending gains for the fourth consecutive session on Monday, the BSE Sensex rallied 295.94 pts to close high at 49,502.41 following gains in Metal, Power, Health Care, Utilities and Capital Goods stocks. The Nifty too rose by 119.20 pts to 14,942.35. In early trade, the Sensex rose by 290 pts at 49,496.05. It advanced by 411 pts to 49,617.47 days high, before closing at 49,502.41, up by 295.94 pts from its previous close.
The sensex registered days high and low at 49,617.47 and 49,412.05 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,966.90 and 14,892.50 pts respectively. The sectoral indices like Metal, Health Care, Utilities and Power kept the market up. In scrips, L& T, Dr Reddy, Sun Pharma, NTPC and IndusInd Bank rallied, however selling in Ultracemco, Infosys, HCL Technology and Reliance Industries capped from further gains, broker informed. The Mid Cap rose by 0.97 pc and Small Cap by 0.94 pc. In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.
