Mumbai, Nov 25 (Agency) The BSE Sensex on Thursday bounced back 454.10 points to close at 58,795.09 on the strength of Energy, Realty, Telecom and Health Care stocks. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 121.20 points at 17,536.25. The Sensex opened higher by 23 points at 58,363.93. It was spurted 561 points at 58,901.58, days high, before closing at 58,795.09, up by 454.10 points from its previous close. Meanwhile, it was dropped nearly 197 points at 58,143.86, days low. The Sensex registered days high and low at 58,901.58 and 58,143.86 points respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,564.35 and 17,351.70 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like Energy, Realty, Oil and Gas, Telecom and Utilities stocks pushed the market up on Thursday. In scrips, Reliance Industries was a star gainer up by 6 per cent to 2494.40 points followed by ITC by 1.49 per cent to Rs 231.30, Infosys by 1.47 per cent to Rs 1722.45, Tech Mahindra by 1.24 per cent to Rs 1558 and Kotak Bank by 1.14 per cent to Rs 2035. The losers were IndusInd Bank by 1.27 per cent to Rs 959.10, Maruti Suzuki by 1.23 per cent to Rs 7569.95, ICICI Bank by 1.22 per cent to Rs 750.90 and Hind Unilever by 1.12 per cent to Rs 2349.85. The Mid Cap rose by 0.69 pc and the Small Cap by 0.87 per cent. In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined. A mixed trend was seen in Asian markets as Nikkei and Hang Seng were advanced by 0.7 and 0.2 per cent, respectively. Similarly, Taiwan too went up by 0.1 per cent. While, Shanghai Composite and Kospi were down 0.2 per cent and 0.5 per cent, respectively.
