New Delhi, Jan 14 (Agency) Passenger car manufacturer Kia India on Thursday announced the commencement of pre-launch bookings for the much awaited vehicle Kia Carens from 14 January, 2022 at a booking amount of Rs 25,000. Customers can book the car through the company’s official website alongside its authorised dealership network across the country. As a ‘Made-in-India-for-the-World’ product, Kia Carens will be exported to 90 countries, including both right-and left-hand drive markets. Globally unveiled on 16 December, 2021, the Kia Carens hosts 10 robust hi-secure safety package including 6 airbags, standard across all five trims – premium, prestige, prestige plus, luxury and luxury plus. The vehicle also offers advanced connectivity through Kia Connect with 66 connected car feature and choices of powertrains and transmission options along with the longest wheelbase in its class.
The automobile also hosts many first-in-class features such as a high definition touchscreen navigation with next-generation Kia Connect, BOSE premium sound system with 8 speakers, smart pure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection, ventilated front seats, 2nd row seat “one touch easy electric tumble” and skylight sunroof. The Kia Carens will be offered in three powertrain options – Smartstream 1.5 petrol, Smartstream 1.4 T-GDi petrol, and 1.5 CRDi VGT diesel couped with three transmission options – 6MT, 7DCT and 6AT. Kia India commenced mass production in August 2019 from its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh following a memorandum of understanding signed with the state government in 2017 to build a new facility in Anantpur district. Kia India has an annual production capacity of approximately 300,000 units and has launched three vehicles for the Indian market – Seltos, Carnival and Sonet.
