Companies hiring young talent from IHM

Hamirpur (HP), Jan 13 (FN Agency) Various national and International companies are knocking at the doors of Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Hamirpur for hiring final year students in their establishments. So far, companies like The Oberoi, McDonald’s and Bikanerwala have come for placements in the campus. IHM, Hamirpur is the joint venture of the central and state government and is located at Jhaniari village on Hamirpur-Dharamshala national highway. Puneet Banta, the Institute’s Head of Department and Placement In charge said Friday that these companies interviewed students for management training and supervisory level and offered them salary packages ranging from Rs 2.5 to Rs 4 lakh per annum.

The students of the institute took full advantage of this opportunity and 45 students participated in the campus placement. Out of these, about 30 students have been provided placement offers by the companies. Banta said during the next two months other reputed companies are also coming to IHM to conduct campus interviews. He said after getting training at the institute , many students have bagged big packages in reputed companies of India and abroad in the past decade. He said it is the result of the hard work of the students of the institute as well as the teachers and other staff of the institute that every year the students of this institute are touching heights in the field of hospitality and tourism in the country and abroad.

Banta said keeping in view the demand of the time, the institute not only lays emphasis on the quality education of the students, but also ensures the all-round development of the personality of the students. Full attention is being paid in the institute to make the students skilled for their respective fields and to make them completely self-reliant, he further added. The Head of Department said this year the offer letters have been given to students of sixth semester. Puneet Banta expressed hope that this year also the placement figure of the institute’s students will be 100 percent like in previous years.
