Sensex falls by over 200 pts

Mumbai, Dec 18 (FN Bureau) The BSE Sensex on Friday slipped by 260 pts to 46,630.31 on profit booking by local operators at higher level in opening trade. The Nifty too fell by 82 pts to 13,658.60. Though, the Sensex opened on top at 47,026.92 an all time high, up 36 pts, it immediately went in red.

The Sensex registered the intra days high and low at 47,026.92 and 46,630.31 pts respectively. The Nifty registered the intra days high and low at 13,771.45 and 13,658.60 respectively. The Mid Cap declined by 0.79 per cent and Small Cup by 1 per cent respectively. In 30 scrips 13 advanced, 16 declined and one unchanged. The losers were IndusInd Bank by 3.15 per cent to Rs 906.40, ONGC by 2.27 per cent to Rs 99.20, HDFC by 2.26 per cent to Rs 2438.45 and HDFC Bank by 1.81 per cent to Rs 1415.35. The gainers were Infosys by 2.37 per cent to Rs 1186.60, HCL Technologies by 2.17 per cent to Rs 898.55, TCS by 1.77 per cent to Rs 2888, Bajaj Auto by 1.30 per cent to Rs 3313 and Nestle India by 0.88 per cent to Rs 18,494.10.
