New Delhi, Jan 22 (Agency) Petrol and diesel prices rose again on Friday after remaining stable for two days. While petrol prices in the country are currently at record levels, diesel prices are also at historically high levels except in Delhi. According to Indian Oil Corporation, the largest oil marketing company in the domestic market, petrol in the National Capital was 25 paise today and its price reached Rs 85.45 per litre. In Mumbai and Kolkata, the price increased by 24 paise to Rs 92.04 and Rs 86.87 per litre respectively.
Its price in Chennai increased by 22 paise and one litre petrol sold for Rs 88.07. Petrol has crossed Rs 92 for the first time in Mumbai and Rs 88 per litre in Chennai for the first time. The price of diesel rose 25 paise to Rs 75.63 per litre in Delhi, which is a record level after 30 July 2020. Its price rose 27 paise to Rs 82.40 in Mumbai, 23 paise in Chennai to Rs 80.90 and in Kolkata it rose 26 paise to Rs 79.23 per litre.
