Exhibition industry directly boost economic growth of country: Ajit Jain

Panaji, Mar 10 (FN Representative) Ajit Ostwal Jain, founder of 143Designz, a company which is into digital services, interior services and exhibition and events, has said that exhibition industry is the most effective platform for business and trade which directly boost the economic growth of the country. The young entrepreneur said he entered in the industry there were too many unethical practices going around. Every two out of five clients were being cheated as quality used to be compromised and also, they were being victim of fraud as there was no legal documented proof of communication.

”That’s when I thought the reputation of the exhibition industry was going down and it needs to be restored as I always believed that exhibition industry is the most effective platform for business and trade which directly boost the economic growth of the country,” he said. When asked what were the challenges he faced as a budding entrepreneur, Ajit said, ”The most challenging thing faced was not being taken seriously as I was very young, clients used to find it difficult to trust me because of my age and experience. Working in the industry is like a do or die situation as you get very limited time to get the work done. Clients prefer assigning task to a trusted perfectionist rather than a new young boy for such challenging job as its always a matter of their reputation.” On issues faced when the company was launched, he said bringing innovative ideas and right people to execute those ideas was a task for start-up companies as the resources were low and the competition was high.

When asked what made him become an entrepreneur, Ajit said, ”Being a Jain Marwadi, we are taught to be more inclined towards business so after High school I was very clear and confident that I have to do something and here’s how I started my business at first by outsourcing a small team of freelancers and growing eventually.” He said,”I have grown from a self-funded start-up working from home single headedly to a team of 25 odd employees working across India and Dubai with 3 functioning offices in leading metro cities. We are looking forward to expand our reach across globe by the end of 2021.”

Sharing his future plans, Ajit said,”We are on the panel of few top event organizers in India, looking forward to go on more such panels as registered Vendor. We are currently working on unique innovative, Modular and Portable stands for our esteem clients who participate in shows regularly to cut down their unnecessary expenses. Also, we are aiming high to have 20 offices by the end of 2025 across globe.” When asked how had the Covid pandemic business compacted the business, he said,”Pandemic have been a tough time for all of us. It directly impacted our business as the immediate lockdown we had to lay off few employees after two months when we got sure news that no exhibitions will be held for the whole year. We started doing digital marketing with all the resources we had.” He said,”Situation is getting much better with Events and exhibitions being conducted by taking care of all Covid rules and regulation. Since vaccination is being launched in the country, we have started hiring employees and rebuilding our team stronger this time.”
