Chatra, Mar 8 (Agency) Police arrested three members of an inter-state smuggling gang and has recovered nearly 10 kilograms of opium from their possession under Rajpur Police Station area of this district on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, SDPO Avinash Kumar said that acting on a tip-off that a group of smugglers were trying to supply huge quantity of opium to other states, especial vehicle drive was launched by Rajpur Police Station during which from Moretha Mode three smugglers on bike were caught the SDPO said, adding that a total of 9.870 kilograms of opium was recovered from the them. He said that the cost of seized opium is estimated to be around Rs 10 lakh.
