Belagavi, Feb 21 (Agency) Three people were nabbed for selling rice meant for Public Distribution System and 2950 kg rice seized from them. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Praveen Amate, Suhas S Pilavkar, resident of Vagdevi, Mahadev L Patil resident of Damane, and Ahmed Basir resident of Veerbhadranagar area were selling Public distribution rice illegally at Sherigalli.
He said that Police officials raided a shop and caught them red-handed on Friday. A total 118 bags (2950 Kg) with about Rs 66,375 public distribution rice seized. A case has been registered at Khade Bazar police station.
