Cash company employee escapes with Rs 1.37 cr in Agra

Agra (UP), Dec 28 (Agency) An employee of a private cash collection company escaped with Rs 1.37 crore in Sikandra area of Agra district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday. Police sources said that Vivek, an employee of Brics India Private Limited, escaped with Rs 1.37 crore of the company on Tuesday. “The company having its office in Rakabganj collects cash on behalf of several big companies. The cash is deposited in the Rakabganj branch of Bank of Baroda every day,” they said. Police sources said that on Tuesday Vivek along with four security guards left for the bank with 1.37 crore cash in a box.

“Manager of the company Shishupal Yadav said that the security guards kept the box in the bank and came back. He said that when the company officer did not receive the message from the bank, he attempted to contact Vivek, but his mobile phone was switched off,” they said. Police sources said that when Vivek could not be contacted till late the company manager lodged a case at Rakabganj police station late on Tuesday night. “When the police checked the CCTV footage of the bank Vivek was seen transferring cash in a bag from the box,” they said. Superintendent of Police (City) Vikas Kumar said several teams have been constituted to arrest the accused. “CCTV footage has been checked and help of surveillance is also being taken. The accused will be arrested soon,” he said.
