Offence registered against Haldi revellers in Thane

Thane, Jan 27 (FN Agency) The Navi Mumbai police has registered an FIR against a group of persons who waved swords rejoicing and revelling at a Haldi function in Turbhe, police said on Wednesday. The police said that the group of persons have been booked under sections 25, 4 of the Arms Act, 188,269 and 270 rw 34 of the IPC and also of the 135,37(1) and 37(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act.

With the Turbhe MIDC police station on Monday. No no arrest has been made in this connection the police said. The police said that on January 25, at around 2200 hrs, they got a video on social media of some people waving swords and rejoicing at a place in the town. The police probed into it and came to know that it was at the place behind the Bagde compound the group was dancing with swords in their hands. Further probe revealed that they were rejoicing at the Haldi function of one Aksah Suresh Singh, 21 along with him. Hence the police have registered the present FIR against Singh and more than a dozen others for their offences.
