Bhopal, Dec 18 (Agency) Premier Narendra Modi will address – later Friday – the peasants of Madhya Pradesh via videoconferencing during four-tier conventions whose twin objectives are raising awareness comprehensively regarding beneficial provisions of fresh legislation in the agrarian sector besides electronic disbursal of Rs 1,600 crore to approximately 35.50 lakh tillers as relief for kharif losses, it was officially learnt.
The Prime Minister’s speech is scheduled to commence at about 1400 hrs. Raisen is the venue for the state-level Mahasammelan to be presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and witness attendance by 20,000 farmers. Other gatherings will be held at district, block and village panchayat levels. Ministers shall dole out relief in various districts. Mr Chouhan directed collectors to ensure that the events are a success. “Benefits should also be provided to fisherfolk, those who rear cattle, etc. Kisan Credit cards must also be distributed. In view of the novel coronavirus challenge, social distancing ought to be maintained and all attendees should wear masks mandatorily,” the senior politician instructed his officers.
