MSEB worker assaulted for cutting power

Nanded, Aug 25 (Agency) An employee of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) was assaulted, for severing the power supply on non-payment of arrear of bill, by a consumer, at the evening of August 24. A case has been registered against the accused, by the Rural Police, today. The accused Kashinath Mahajan Jondhale, a power consumer from Sambhaji Nagar CIDCO, had beaten up a MSEDCL employee Akash Diliprao Tomke following severing his power supply due to non-payment of bill for the last six months.

As soon as the employee Tomke got down from the pole, Jondhale started beating him, asking why the power supply was cut off. Dnyaneshwar Sankewar, a senior technician was also insulted and threatened to kill by the accused. A case has been registered against the accused at Nanded Rural Police Station under Sections 353, 332, 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code for obstructing government work.
