Nurmahal, Jun 23 (Agency) The Nurmahal police have booked a woman travel agent for allegedly duping a woman of Nurmahal village of Rs one lakh on the pretext of sending her relative abroad. Nakodar deputy superintendent of police Navneet Singh Mahal said the accused has been identified as Priya Sharma, a resident of Mehat Pur .
The investigating officer said Rajdip Kaur, a resident of Sidham Hari Singh complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP ) that she paid Rs One lakh to the accused for facilitating her relative’s migration abroad but the accused did neither send him abroad nor returned the money. IO said a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
