Bhagalpur, Jun 6 (Agency) Police arrested seven contract staff in inebriated condition from the office of District Transport Officer (DTO) based in collectorate premises in Bhagalpur district. Senior Police Superintendent of Bhagalpur Nitasha Gudiya said here today that acting on the basis of information, raid was conducted in District Transport Office where seven contract staff were found celebrating liquor party. Empty liquor bottles were also recovered from from the spot, she added. “
All the seven contract staff were arrested and sent to Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur, where it was confirmed after medical test that they had consumed liquor”, Ms Gudiya said adding that all the arrested staff were sent to jail after medical test confirming them to be in inebriated condition. An FIR for violation of liquor ban had also been lodged against them, she further added. Raid was conducted by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Puran Jha. Arrested staff were habitual offender of liquor ban law as they often used to celebrate party and enjoy the occasion with liquor.
