TTD officials seizes over Rs 6 lakh cash, 25 kgs of coins

Tirupati May 18 (Representative) In a drive to prevent misuse of its properties, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials along with state Revenue Officials on Monday evening while seizing the house no 75, allotted to a person and died an year ago at Seshanagar on the Tirupati-Karakambadi Road here have found more than Rs 6 lakh cash and also 25 kgs of coins of different denominations. In the Panchanama conducted thereafter in the house, the officials found cash of Rs.6,15,050 parked in a box besides 25 kgs of coins of different denominations, TTD said in a release here. on Tuesday.

The property was gifted by TTD to one Srinivasa, a resident of Tirumala in lieu of his property at hill shrine in 2008 as part of the rehabilitation scheme. On hearing that the property was put for sale by anti-social land grabbers as Srinivasa, who died a year ago and had no living dependents, the TTD Joint Executive officer Sada Bhargavi had sought a detailed report. After the report submitted by the TTD Estate Department through the local Tahsildar, the TTD JEO directed for a futile search for a month to trace his dependents, if any. Finally, TTD Estate, Vigilance and district revenue officials swung into action late on Monday evening and seized the property and the contents including cash and coins which were deposited in the TTDs treasury today.
