Central govt should decentralise vaccination app: Patil

Mumbai, May 10 (Agency) NCP state president and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil on Monday demanded that the central government should decentralise the vaccination app as millions of people are at a disadvantage due to technical issues with the CoWIN app. In his statement, Mr Patil said that there are a number of technical errors in the CoWIN app. There are many complaints like delay for login and ‘OTP’.

It is very challenging for about 1.3 billion Indians to register on time from a single central app. In this situation, the implementation system of such an important vaccination program is limited and the errors are very serious, said Patil. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a separate app for each state or allow the Maharashtra government to create its own app. Mr Patil also said that the central government should immediately consider this, he added.
