Tirumala, Nov 30 (Representative) The hill shrine of Tirumala dazzled in the lights of ghee lit lamps on the occasion of Karthika Parva Deepotsavam on the auspicious day of Karthika Pournami on Sunday evening.
The entire temple premises starting from Main Entrance to Garbha Griham, Sub-Shrines etc. have been lit with a galaxy of ghee lit lamps. The temple assumed a noval beauty in the brightness of ghee lit lamps. The specially designed traditional mud pot called “Mookullu” filled with desi ghee with a wick in the middle is lit with a twilight, which is carried in a procession initially by the Jiyangar Swamijis of Tirumala, TTD mandarins and other officials.
Later, the entire temple premises is lit with the mud lamps giving the abode of Lord Venkateswara a Bhooloka Vaikuntha look. Meanwhile, TTD has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva in connection with the Karthika Parva Deepotsavam.
