Hyderabad, Nov 24 (Representative) Telangana Minister and BRS Working President K T Rama Rao presented the success story of “Trailblazer Telangana” on Thursday.Discussing the transformation of Telangana over the past decade under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, BRS Party Working President KTR highlighted that, apart from Hyderabad, the remaining nine districts were declared backward by the then Congress-led Union government. These districts were receiving the Backward Region Grant Fund due to their backward status. However, through rapid development, each district in Telangana now records a higher per capita income than the national average.Despite initial challenges as a newly formed state, Telangana has emerged as a progressive state within a decade, KTR stated. He emphasiSed that CM KCR’s visionary leadership resulted in the construction of projects like Kaleshwaram and other irrigation initiatives with an expenditure of Rs 1.70 lakh crore, which helped Telangana overcome drought situations. KTR highlighted several achievements, including Telangana leading in per capita income in the country and being one of the fastest-growing states in terms of GSDP.
Additionally, the state reduced multidimensional poverty from 13.18 percent in 2014 to 5.8 percent in 2023. The minister pointed out the significant increase in agricultural production in the state. He noted that in paddy production, Telangana has surpassed Punjab and Haryana, with the acreage increasing from 131 lakh acres in 2014 to 268 lakh acres in 2023.Highlighting the government’s support for farmers, KTR mentioned schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, along with the provision of a 24-hour free power supply. He stressed that the government spends Rs 1000 crore per month towards free power supply to farmers. KTR also highlighted the fulfillment of Chief Minister KCR’s promise to provide tap connections to every household, making Telangana the first state in the country to achieve this.Addressing opposition parties, KTR criticized them for politicizing issues like Medigadda and urged them not to mislead people. He emphasized the government’s commitment to completing the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project by 2024, despite challenges. KTR challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and BJP leaders to make presentations on public sector recruitment in their respective states. He asserted that the BRS government in Telangana had successfully fulfilled 1.60 lakh jobs in the public sector, surpassing the records of BJP-ruled Gujarat and Congress-governed Rajasthan.
