New Delhi, Jun 27 (FN Agency) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday expressed happiness over the nine cities for getting a four-star rating for their initiatives to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis. In a message, Mr Naidu said that the nine cities of the country have got a four-star ranking for developing a climate-friendly environment and inculcated a climate-sensitive approach to urban planning, saying it is an exemplary step.
He said that it is a matter of satisfaction.
According to the cities’ readiness report on Climate-Smart Cities Assessment Framework (CSCAF) released by the ministry of housing and urban affairs (HUA) on Friday, Ahmedabad, Indore, Pimpri Chinchwad, Vadodara, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Rajkot, and Surat were adjudged top performers among 126 cities that participated in the second edition of the assessment launched in September.
