‘Teachers should make teaching not a profession but a goal’

Pune, Sep 8 (FN Agency) Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Wednesday urged the teachers to do the work they have accepted with a sense of service rather than a professional spirit. The minister was speaking on the occasion of distribution of the best teacher and president cup awards given by Zilla Parishad. Former Minister of State Balasaheb Bhegde, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Kamlakar Ranadive, Education Officer (Secondary) Sunanda Wakhare, Education Officer (Primary) Sandhya Gaikwad were present on the occasion. Patil said, the British designed the education system in a way that was convenient for them. As per the new education policy, there is an attempt to inculcate the core of education in the citizens of the country once again.

Children are moving forward with the “sanskar” ( culture and custom) formed at an early age. Earlier, students were proficient in many subjects in Gurukul. Today’s students will also be proficient in many subjects due to the education system implemented according to the new educational policy. The stages of education will be changed in the new education policy. Government spends heavily on education. Keeping this in mind, teachers should work hard to make the children cultured with all-round development, he added. Individuals in the medical and education fields need to work more hours without binding themselves to time.
Efforts should be made to provide maximum funds for educational development through social responsibility, he added. Government will support all that Patil said that this fund should be used to build toilets for girls in the school, sports facilities, e-learning, protective wall for the school. On this occasion, Minister t Patil honored the principal, teacher and head of the center who received the best award with a medal and certificate. In the introduction, Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad gave information about the various activities being implemented through the education department of Zilla Parishad. District Group Education Officer, Extension Officer, Principal, Center Head, teachers were present in the program.
