Chandigarh, Sep 15 (FN Representative) Haryana government has released a fund of about Rs 365 crore under the ‘District Plan Scheme’ for development works in the state for the year 2021-22. The funds will be allocated for drinking water, education, electricity, health and family welfare, irrigation, non-conventional energy sources, community buildings, bridges, roads, streets, sanitation and public health, sports, animal care, women and child development. Apart from the development services, funds will also be spent on horticulture works as well. Giving this information here on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that the state government will leave no stone unturned for public welfare. While employment opportunities are being generated for the youth by attracting investments, proper funds are being spent by the Government to strengthen the basic infrastructure in the State.
Mr Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of rural development, said that the progress of the State will be taken forward by maximum use of the funds under ‘District Plan Scheme’. He said that a total fund of Rs 364.93 crore has been sanctioned for this scheme, out of which Rs 146.25 crore will be spent on the development of weaker sections like Scheduled Castes. He said that the money of this ‘District Plan Scheme’ can also be spent as per rules on small problems which are usually raised by the district residents in the District Grievance Redressal Committee before the Chairman of the committee. He said that the state government would spend the funds of ‘District Plan Scheme’ on the works of tube wells, water tanks, piped drinking water supply etc. in the State so that facilities could be made available as per the need of the people. Apart from this, expansion of buildings, new rooms, halls, kitchens etc can be done in Government Educational Institutions from this fund. Small projects can be set up for works related to electricity such as street light. Mr Chautala informed that under this scheme, construction works will be done by the State Government for the building and walls of hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, family welfare centers and ANM centres, parking-sheds for patients etc.
Not only this, the funds of ‘District Plan Scheme’ can also be used for public irrigation facilities, flood control management, public lift irrigation projects, facilities for recharging the water used for the public. He further informed that Panchayat-Ghar, Choupal, Community Centre, Public-Library, Bus Q-Shelter, Public Park, Link Road, sign-boards in towns and cities, drains, gutters, stadiums for sports, development and beautification of courts, buildings for sports activities, multi-gyms, veterinary hospitals for animal care, animal sheds, creche buildings for children, Anganwadi buildings and public parks built on Government and Panchayat lands can be made by utilizing these funds. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to all-round development of the State. While provision is being made in the budget by the Government for various big projects, local development works are being done as per the requirement under the ‘District Plan Scheme’.
