G-20 summit an opportunity to introduce ‘Brand UP’ to world: Yogi

Lucknow, Aug 10 (FN Agency) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that India is going to get the opportunity to preside over the G-20, a group of the world’s largest nations from December 2022 to December 2023, under the successful leadership of the Prime Minister and the global event is full of immense potential for UP.Presiding over a high-level meeting, Yogi said, “This event will serve as a great platform to introduce Brand UP to the world. We should plan things accordingly. To make the whole world aware of the potential of ‘New India’s New Uttar Pradesh’, we have to systematically present the cultural, spiritual, social, economic and industrial features of the state. A comprehensive action plan should be prepared in this regard.”He said that the G20, chaired by India, is proposed to have separate programmes in Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra and Greater Noida in UP over a period of one year. “According to the Indian spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ preparations should be made to make the event grand in these districts,” he directed. The CM said, “The PM has termed India as the ‘Mother of Democracy’. UP has a heritage of rich history.

The ancient art, culture, history, and archaeological features of the state should be compiled and presented on the G-20 platform. For this, necessary research studies should be conducted by forming a group of historians, archaeologists and art-culture experts.”He said that on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January 2023, people from different countries will unite. “On this occasion, we should make efforts to connect the diaspora with the ‘UP Mathrubhumi Yojana’. Many Indians overseas have also shown interest in the same. This is an easy way for the general public to become a direct participant in the development works,” he directed.Yogi said that taking forward the PM’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, cultural exchange with other states should be encouraged. “Cultural teams should be sent to acquaint other states with the cultural features of UP. Similarly, teams from other states should be invited here,” he directed.He said that the National Education Policy of the visionary PM has a better inclusion of theoretical and practical dimensions of knowledge. “This new policy will prove helpful in taking society towards self-reliance and economic empowerment.

The curriculum in schools and higher educational institutions should be revised as soon as possible in accordance with the provisions of the National Education Policy. Necessary changes should be made to implement the system of 4 years of graduation,” he said.The CM directed that courses related to technical and medical education should be prepared in the mother tongue. “It should be ensured that the content meets the highest quality. Verification of academic quality should be made mandatory for all higher and technical educational institutions in the state. There should be healthy competition among academic institutions,” he said.He said that to further improve the digital connectivity, an action plan should be prepared for the expansion of telecom towers or optical fiber in every village. He said that this effort will be very useful in future and necessary cooperation will also be received from the Union Government in this regard.Yogi said that the agricultural universities should be linked with the ambitious plan of natural farming. “The board should be constituted as soon as possible to make natural farming effective,” he said.He said that urbanisation is an important dimension for the overall development of the state.

“Recently, at the government level, action has been taken to expand the boundaries of various urban bodies, while many new urban bodies have also been formed. For the future we have to make planned efforts towards the establishment and development of new cities. A report should be submitted by the Urban Development Department and Housing Department for the establishment of new cities in different areas of the state. Besides, action should also be taken to expand the limits of urban development authorities,” he said. The CM said that due to continuous efforts the state has made an unprecedented increase in its exports. “We have to increase the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ while reducing dependence on imports. Along with wheat and paddy the state has made unprecedented progress in the production and export of vegetables and fruits.

We have to promote such agricultural products. To reduce the dependency on imports, we have to intensify efforts to increase the production of pulses and oilseeds. Farmers have to be encouraged and trained for agricultural diversification. Action should be expedited in this direction,” he said.He said that the Govardhan model of Varanasi is a splendid example of ‘Waste to Wealth’. “Today UP’s BC Sakhi Yojana, Operation Kayakalp, Mission Prerna and Gram Sachivalaya are being appreciated as a model in the country. More and more such innovative programmes should be encouraged with the help of technology,” he said.Yogi said, “Local bodies are in the role of engine for the overall development of the state. Our villages have unlimited potential. People are going to accept innovation. With the goal of self-reliant villages and self-reliant municipal bodies today the local bodies of the state will have to work in mission mode.”
