Collective efforts needed for sustainable development of Gram Panchayats: Dr. Jindal

Dharamshala, Dec 28 (Agency) Everyone’s appropriate efforts are necessary to achieve the goals set in the sustainable development of Gram Panchayats, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal said this in the meeting organized to prepare the action plan under the development goals and Gram Panchayat Development Plan for the financial year 2023-24 in District Kangra. Presiding over the meeting on this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Gram Panchayats should display the draft development agenda for public information before the Gram Sabha meetings so that every person living in the village can know him and give his views on it.In the meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dr. Nipun said that an action plan has been prepared for continuous development of village panchayats in Kangra district with the goals set. In this, mainly the localization of sustainable development goals has been given importance.

He told the officers of the concerned departments present about poverty free, livelihood advanced village, healthy village, child friendly panchayat, water sufficient village, clean and green village, self-sustaining infrastructure village, socially safe village, well governed village and women friendly village.Dr. Nipun Jindal said that officers should ensure effective implementation of the development plan with coordination and cooperation, so that the general public can be benefited. He also said that in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, the role of officers of all departments will be important in establishing coordination between the departments and for putting ambitious plans on the ground.He said that the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) should be widely participatory and should be based on a participatory process involving the Gram Sabha. On this occasion, ADC Kangra, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta and district officers of other departments were present.
