Bhubaneswar, Jan 7 (Agency)The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance have unearthed properties worth several lakhs during raids on the properties of a Superintending Engineer at six places on Saturday Vigilance sources said simultaneous searches are on since morning by five DSPs, 14 Inspectors and 28 other staffs on the properties of Bijayananda Sahoo, Superintending Engineer ,RWS&S Division Bhubaneswar at Angul, Dhenkanal and Bhubaneswar.
During searches the Vigilance officials have so far detected 2 triple storied – one each at Bhubaneswar and Angul , one double storied building at Dhandole in Dhenkanal , 14 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar, Angul and Dhenkanal in the name of Sahoo, his family members and relatives. Out of the 14 plots six are in the name of his sister-in-law and 5 in the name of his brother-in-law, suspected to have been acquired by Sahoo as benami properties. Details are under verification. Vigilance sources said Rs.1.8 Lakh in cash, Bank deposits Rs.15 Lakhs along with one four wheeler with other assets also unearthed during searches on properties linked to Bijayananda Sahoo.The searches are continuing.
