Thane, Jun 2 (Representative) The city police have rescued two actresses, who had acted in Tamil and other south Indian films, from flesh trade here and arrested three people, including two women along with a man, in this connection. A woman from Amrut Nagar of Mumbra was acting as an agent and supplying women for flesh trade being operated from a residence in Naupada area of the city, which was being used as a brothel, police said. The police sent a dummy customer who sought either the orchestra girls or models and film actress from the woman, who quoted Rs 2 lakh for each of them. After bargaining, she agreed for Rs 1.80 lakh. The accused woman, Hasina Memon, arranged for two actresses, through one Vishal alias Sunilkumar Uttamchand Jain (42, of Goregaon), to the Naupada residence of one Sweety.
The police on Wednesday raided the flat at Naupada, rescued the two women and arrested the three people, including both the women. The trio wooed the actresses and models by promising them good money and pushed them into flesh trade. Police seized Rs 2,14,015 in cash and costly mobile phones from the arrested accused. An offence under sections 370(2)(3) of Indian Penal Code and other relevant Acts has been registered with the Naupada police station against the trio, sources added.
