Nashik, Aug 25 (Agency) In the past 47 days, the Nashik Traffic Police has collected Rs 14,60,150 in fines from 5,035 vehicle owners for flouting rules, official data said on Wednesday. Among the violators, were 3,312 two-wheelers and 1,723 four-wheelers and most of them had broken the ‘No Parking’ rule.
From July 7 onwards, the traffic police in the city has intensified the vigil against vehicles found in no parking zones. Under the drive, the cops kept a watch in several areas of the city, including the Cental Bus Stands, Shalimar and Untwadi Mall areas, and Raviwar Karanja and Panchavati localities. A fine of Rs 200 is imposed on the vehicles parked in no parking areas. But, now the towing charge has also been added in the penalty, police told.
