FIR against 4 for organizing bullock cart races in Thane

Thane, May 27 (Representative) The Hill Line police under Ulhasnagar zone has registered a criminal case against four people for organizing the banned bullock cart races in Usatne village of Ambernath town in the district. The accused along with others had organized the bullock cart races in the village on Sunday in the presence of several people, police said on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as Pravin Patil, Sachin Bhandari, Gurunath Patil and Mahesh Patil, all residents of Usatne.

An offence under section 188 of Indian Penal Code, 11(1)(n) of the Cruelty to Animals and sections 119, 37(1)(1) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against them on Tuesday . However, no arrest has been made so far in this connection. As per the government regulations and court rulings, there is a ban on bullock cart races in the state, sources added.
