Hyderabad, Jul 19 (Representative) The official of Directorate Of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday seized 3.2 kgs of heroin, worth Rs 21 crore from a lady air passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, here. Based on specific intelligence, officers of DRI intercepted a lady passenger from Zambia at RGIA, and recovered about 3.2 Kgs of NDPS substance suspected to be heroin from their checked-in Baggage, a DRI release here said.
In the early hours of Monday, officers of DRI intercepted a Zambian lady passenger who flew from Zambia via Johannesburg and Doha in Qatar Airways. Detailed examination of her baggage resulted in recovery of off-white powder concealed in her baggage. The substance tested positive for heroin. The drug was seized and the person was arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act 1985, the release added.
