New Delhi, Sep 20 (Representative) A 40-year-old man, who had been involved in 38 cases, was arrested in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area on Monday, police said. According to police, accused identified as Chanderpal alias Chintu, a resident of Nabi Karim, has 38 cases registered against him across Delhi. He had been involved in robbery, snatching, theft and arms act cases. He was released from jail in January last year. Police were patrolling at around 9:40 pm, when the patrolling staff was passing through Mother Dairy Booth near Old Flyover in Wazirabad, cops noticed a person riding a motorcycle without number plate in suspicious condition, on this basis the patrolling staff asked him to stop for checking.
But the suspect tried to escape from the spot by accelerating the speed of the motorcycle. The act of the suspected person raised more suspicion to the police staff, and they instantly swung into action and began to chase and apprehend him. On verifying details of the alleged motorcycle in police record, it was found stolen from Shaheen Bagh PS area. During enquiry, it was revealed that he is a habitual offender with a history of 38 cases involvements, police said. As per police statement, the accused is illiterate, who earlier used to work as a guide and would arrange the hotels and guest houses for tourists in Delhi. But due to insufficient earnings from this job, he got indulged in illegal activities to make easy money.
