MCD staffer among two held for supplying ‘ganja’ in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 20 (FN Agency) Delhi Police on Monday held two men, including a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employee, for allegedly supplying ‘ganja’ in the city and recovered over four kg of ganja from their possession. According to police, Sukhbir (45) is a permanent employee of MCD as a sweeper. He started allegedly supplying ganja to fulfill the financial requirements. Kailash (33) used to work as a carpenter but lost his job and indulged in supplying ganja illegally in the area.

On September 16, police got a tip-off that a person, who was indulged in illegal ganja supply, would come near blue line Metro Pillar no 754, to deliver the consignment, Santosh Kumar Meena, DCP, Dwarka Delhi, said. Acting on this information, Police swung into action and laid a trap near the metro pillar. One person, who came at the spot by a scooty, in the meanwhile, another young person, was also reached near the Scooty rider. At the instance of the secret informer, both were apprehended. They were later identified as Kailash and Sukhbir. During the search, a total of four Kg illegal ganja was recovered from them.
