A Delhi court grants time to Satyendar Jain for filing rejoinder to the reply of ED

New Delhi, Jan 2(Agency) A Delhi Court granted time to Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain to file a rejoinder to the reply filed by ED to his application under section 208 Criminal Procedure Code (Supply of copies of statement and documents to accused in other cases triable by Court of Sessions). The court adjourned the matter for filing rejoinder and hearing argument on the application on January, 12. Superintendent, Central Jail Tihar filed a Medical report in compliance of court order dated 09.12.2022 and submitted that copy of the same supplied to the counsel for Satyender Kumar Jain as well as to ED through mail.

Counsel for Satyendar Kumar Jain seeks time to file rejoinder to the reply filed by ED to their application under Section 208 Cr.P.C. Vikash Dhull, Special Judge for CBI said, “Put up on 12.01.2023 for filing rejoinder to the reply to application under Section 208 Cr.P.C. by accused Satyendar Kumar Jain, for arguments on the said application and for consideration of medical report of Satyendar Kumar.” The court directed Superintendent, Tihar Jail to produce accused A-1 Satyendar Kumar Jain, A-5 Vaibhav Jain and A-6 Ankush Jain through VC on 12.01.2023. Counsel for Satyendar Jain had moved an application under section 208 Cr.P.C and the Court on last date granted opportunity to Enforcement Directorate to file the reply. Enforcement Directorate in the last date of hearing filed the reply of the application of Jain along with copy of legible documents. Jain is accused of having laundered money through four companies allegedly linked to him and was arrested by Enforcement Directorate in a Money Laundering case based on a CBI FIR lodged against him in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
