LG sanctions expenditure of Rs 11.57 cr towards cash assistance for BPL card holders

Puducherry, Dec 25 (Agency) Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi has sanctioned an expenditure of Rs.11.57 crore towards cash assistance for Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holders which will be remitted through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, in lieu of distribution of clothing items for the fiscal 2020-21.

According to a Raj Nivas release on Thursday night, this would benefit about 1.35 lakh BPL card holders. An amount of Rs 900 each will be remitted into the account of the BPL card holders through DBT mode, as mandated by the Central government.
