Ind-Eng 4th Test, 2nd day: India 153/6 at Tea trailed by 52 runs

Ahmedabad, Mar 5 (Agency) India were 80/4 at lunch on the second day of the fourth and final Test against England, here at at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. India added 56 runs to their overnight score of 24 runs in the first session of the second day.

Cheteshwar Pujara (17) and captain Virat Kohli (0) departed in quick succession. After added 39 runs for the fourth wicket, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (27) was caught by Ben Stokes off James Anderson in 38th over of India’s first innings. At lunch, opener Rohit Sharma was unbeaten on 32 off 106 balls.

Earlier, England were bowled out for 205 runs in their first innings. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel took four wickets. India leading the four-match series 2-1. India need to avoid the defeat to enter the World Test Championship Final. If England win this match then Australia will face New Zealand in the Championship Final.
