Extend all-out support to farmers’ struggle, Bharat Bandh : AIBEA to units, members

Hyderabad, Dec 7 (Agency) All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has called upon all its units and members to extend all-out support to farmers’ struggle and Bharat Bandh called by Kisan Unions on Tuesday on the demand for repeal of three new Agriculture Laws by the Union government. The farmers’ protest at Delhi borders on the new farm laws had entered the 12th day on Monday. The farmers are demanding to repeal Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020.

AIBEA General Secretary Ch Venkatachalam in a Circular to all its units and members asked to undertake solidarity programmes tomorrow like Support campaign through Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Display of placards before Bank branches, Badge Wearing ( with demands or plain black ribbons) and participate in the local demonstrations, rallies, arranged at various centres. He said already various organisations, Trade Unions and political parties have extended their support. About 10 Central Trade Unions—- INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF, UTUC have extended their support. Besides, this, leaders of 11 political parties have issued their joint call to support the struggle of farmers. The leaders of 11 political parties which lend their support are Ms Sonia Gandhi, President, Indian National Congress , Mr M K Stalin, President, DMK, Mr Sharad Pawar, President, NCP (Nationalist Congress Party), Mr Tejaswi Yadav, Leader, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Mr Farooq Abdullah, Chairman, PAGD (People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration) Mr Akhilesh Yadav, President, Samajwadi Party, Mr Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary, CPI(M), Mr D Raja, General Secretary, CPI, Mr Dipankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary, CPI(ML), Mr Debabarata Biswas, General Secretary, AIFB (All India Forward Bloc) and Mr Manoj Bhattacharya, General Secretary, RSP (Revolutionary Socialist Party ). Mr Venkatachalam reminded, on November 26, bank employees under the banner of AIBEA observed the protest strike against the various anti-workers, anti-kisan policies of the Central Government along with the millions of workers all over the country. Hence we whole-heartedly support the demands of the farmers and the All India Aisan Sangarsh Coordination Committee besides we also extend our total solidarity with the farmers who are on a rightful struggle, he added. We also urge upon the government to come forward and resolve their demands in the interest of the nation and farmers. The AIBEA General Secretary said It is unfortunate that the Union Government instead of resolving their genuine concerns amicably was adopting a negative attitude. Hence the All India Kisan Sangarsh Coordination Committee has decided to continue their struggle, he contended.
