New Delhi, July 14 (Agency) Delhi High Court after hearing Thursday dismissed a petition seeking the postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2022 exam scheduled for July 17. Petition for postponement of NEET-UG 2022, JEE 2022 and CUET 2022 has been filed by 15 students from UP, Kerala, Assam, Jharkhand, Telangana, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra by citing that there is a short gap between CUET, NEET & JEE & also flood situation in different parts of the country. The counsel for petitioner submitted that the board examination ended in mid of June 2022 and without getting the sufficient time to prepare the students have been forced to prepare for three national level examinations.

The Counsel added that in spite of being aware about the genuine and legitimate grievances of the petitioners, respondents have failed to take a timely decision in respect of rescheduling NEET- UG 2022 and created a state of confusion among students by not releasing the admit card of the students till July, 11 and if it is conducted as per the present schedule, it will cause irreparable loss and injustice to lakhs of students. The Counsel for petitioners requested to court to set aside the date fixed for the entrance test and re-schedule it after four to six weeks. Delhi High Court Justice Sanjeev Narula after dismissing the petition said there is no merit in the petition. The court said that it was too late and the petition was misconceived and the court is not going to levy costs because these are students.
