Skill development scam case : Naidu’s judicial remand extended till Oct 5

Vijayawada, Sep 24 (FN Agency) Anti Corruption Bureau Court here on Sunday extended till October 5, the ‘Judicial remand’ of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested by the state CID police on September 9 in the alleged multi-crore Skill Development Corporation Scam case. The AP CID police team led by DSP M Dhanunjayudu grilled Chandrababu Naidu in the Rajahmundry Central Jail on the second day today. After completion of two-day CID custody, the former Chief Minister was produced before the ACB Court Judge BVS Himabindu virtually. The ACB court judge asked Naidu whether the CID followed the strict instructions given by the court not to use any third degree methods during interrogation to which the TDP Chief said that the CID team did not trouble him during the 11-hour-long questioning during the two days. Later, the Judge passed orders extending the judicial remand till October 5.

The judge told the former CM that a copy of the two-day interrogation report would be given to him in due course of time. After the AP CID police arrested the TDP Chief on September 9 he was sent to 14 days judicial remand by the ACB Court which ended on Friday. The judge extended the judicial remand till September 24 and granted two -day custody to the CID to grill Naidu in the Central prison. Meanwhile, Naidu lawyers had already filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the AP High Court verdict of dismissing his petition for quashing the FIR registered by the CID in the case and Judicial remand order of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court. The lawyers of Naidu are also moving a bail petition in the ACB court here on Monday. Meanwhile, protests across the state continued opposing the arrest of Naidu. The IT professionals of Hyderabad took out a huge car rally from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry to extend solidarity with Naidu.
