Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal said this while visiting Art Gallery, Museum, Art Studio and Art Residency at Art Village Andreta today. During this, his wife Dr. Nidhi Jindal and both the daughters also stayed with him. The Deputy Commissioner said that it is the good fortune of this area that great artist Sardar Shobha Singh settled in Kangra Valley after the partition of India. He said that the austerity and art of Sardar Shobha Singh gave a new identity to the already famous Kangra artwork in the field of art.
He said that the contribution of Andreta Art Gallery of Sardar Shobha Singh is so important that today art lovers from all over the country come here throughout the year and remain engrossed in the practice of art. He said that he considered it his good fortune that he got the opportunity to visit the Sardar Shobha Singh Art Gallery at Andreta today. He said that this place is a treasure house of the glorious works of Sardar Shobha Singh. He said that Andreta Art Gallery and Museum will continue to attract visitors and more tourists and art lovers will visit this gallery here in times to come. On this occasion, Shobha Singh’s daughter Bibi Gurcharan Kaur presented her famous ‘Kangra Bride’ painting made by Shobha Singh to Deputy Commissioner Kangra.
