Guwahati, Jan 29 (Representative) Two persons, purportedly returning after participating in the farmers’ protest in New Delhi, were arrested at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here last evening on allegations of flouting COVID 19 protocols. An Assam Police spokesperson informed that at about 2000 hours yesterday, some passengers at the airport allegedly violated COVID 19 protocols and came out forcefully without undergoing mandatory COVID test. Two persons, identified as Dinesh Das and Jayanta Gogoi, were arrested in this connection and a case registered at Azara police station, he added. Meanwhile, local media reports today claimed that the two persons had gone to New Delhi to participate in the ongoing farmers’ protest there and were allegedly apprehended at the airport without any grounds.
