Pune, Dec 21 (Bureau) In recent times, the city has witnessed a massive increase in cyber crimes, thousands of applications have been filed with the police department regarding cyber crime complaints but its investigation does not seem to be fast-tracked. Therefore, new hi-tech technology will be used to investigate cyber crimes in the future. Further more, There is a plan to provide additional manpower in the cyber police station and training will be given to police officers and employees for investigation of crimes, said newly appointed Dynamics Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaar here this evening. Mr Kumaar further said that community policing will also be emphasized to reduce street crime. Elaborating on CCTNS system, the new CP said that it has been effectively implemented across the state. The commissioner also said that the upgraded version of that system like CCTNS 2.0 will be launched soon. He was talking to reporters for the first time after taking charge of the post of Pune Police Commissioner. The Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Crime Branch Amol Zende were present during the press conference. Narrating his own experience about this culture city of Pune Mr Kumaar said “I am living in Pune for the past few years, Pune city is not new to us and do everything whatever possible for me to make it a safe and safety for citizens. The CCTNS system has been effectively implemented across the state while working in the State Crime Investigation Department (CID),” he added.
He said that instructions have also been given to all the police station regarding filing the case immediately after receiving the complaint in any police station by victims. Regarding the growing population of the city and insufficient manpower in the police force, the new CP said that emphasis will be placed on community policing to maintain law and order in the city. Substantial changes will be made to smoothen the traffic system in the city he said and added that there is a plan to make major changes in the planning of the traffic police. Mr Kumaar also revealed that all police officials have been instructed to take note of the complaints received through Twitter, Instagram and other social media. “After understanding the complaint received, it will be recorded and action will be taken after that,” he added. Orders in this regard have been given to the concerned police officers, he emphasised that even if crimes increase on paper, action will be taken on complaints. He also said that after reviewing the serious crimes complaint and if necessary, MCOCA Act will be used in the relevant section. During the on going Maharashtra winter assembly sessions in Nagpur where the leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar today raised a question in assembly about the created the reign of terror by Koyta gang in Hadapsar area in Pune, the commissioner said that definitely action will be taken against the Koyta gang and no one will be spared and said that organized crime will be dealt with under MOCA.
