To pay lump sum FRP to sugarcane farmers in the state: Shinde

New Delhi, Nov 30 (Agency) The decision to give one amount of Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) to sugarcane farmers in the state was taken Tuesday in a meeting of sugarcane farmers chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. A meeting was held at Sahyadri guest house regarding various demands of sugarcane farmers. Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadanvis, Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar, Cooperation Minister Atul Save, Ports and Mines Minister Dadaji Bhuse, MP Darishsheel Mane, Former MP Raju Shetty, Former MLA Sadabhau Khot,top ranks officials and representatives of various farmers’ organizations were present.Mr Shinde said that, injustice will not be done to the farmers in any way. Decisions are being taken in the interest of Baliraja (Farmers)how to make him happy.

The state government is positive on the demands of the sugarcane farmers and we have decided to give a lump sum FRP,said Mr Shinde.Mr Shinde also assured the representatives of the farmers’ organizations that a positive decision will be taken regarding the air gap between the two sugar mills. The Chief Minister directed that digital weighing forks should be started for weighing from the next season while deciding the criteria for cutting and transportation and directed to send a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department regarding the problems of sugarcane transporters. Mr Fadanvis said that all agricultural feeders will connect on solar energy for power supply for agriculture this year and 2000 MW electricity project is being done this year and government land is also being made available for it. He also appealed to the people’s representatives to cooperate for it.On this occasion Mr Shetty, Mr. Mane, Mr. Khot along with various officials raised the problems of sugarcane farmers.
