Dhaka, Jan 21 (Agency) Bangladesh has decided to shut down schools and colleges till February 6 in view of a surge in Covid-19 cases. An official notification on Friday outlined restrictions in this regard. Universities can take necessary steps independently. The notification restricts all gatherings for any purpose whether social, political or religious to a maximum of 100 people.
Those attending such events will be required to carry the Covid-19 vaccine certificate as well as a RT-PCR corona negative certificate taken within 24 hours of the event. Use of masks will be mandatory at all public places including bus stands, launch terminals, railway stations, shopping malls and religious places. Meanwhile, single day infections crossed the 10,000 mark on Thursday with 10,888 new cases and four deaths reported from across the country.
