Land grabbing charges against TDP leaders baseless: Atchannaidu

Vijayawada, Dec 20 (Agency) Telugu Desam Party AP State President K Atchannaidu on Sunday accused the YSRCP led Government of levelling baseless allegations against the TDP leaders with an ulterior motive to cover up the unchecked land grabbing being resorted to by the ruling party leaders in Visakhapatnam and its surrounding areas in the past 18 months. Mr. Atchannaidu said that the ruling party leaders were indulging in mudslinging on TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna and former MLA Peela Govind out of sheer political vengeance. A false information campaign was going on that they were involved in land encroachments.

In a statement here, the TDP leader demanded the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed government to give proof of the land grabs committed by these Opposition leaders. The Rushikonda land was bought by one person 50 years ago. After that, the same land changed two hands. Later, Velagapudi Ramakrishna bought this land over 20 years ago, he informed.. When there was a dispute, the matter was taken to the court. There was a court decree also ordering for non-interference of anybody in that land. Despite the court decree, the YCP Government was interfering with this now, he explained Mr. Atchannaidu said that the YSRCP launched vicious propaganda against Peela Govind as well with regard to the alleged encroachment of the government lands at BD Palem in Anandapuram mandal. The YSRCP leaders should submit the proofs to prove these charges. The Jagan regime has adopted a bankrupt policy of mudslinging on the TDP leaders in order to divert the public attention from the unchecked encroachments of the ruling party coterie, he lashed out.
