Kolkata, Oct 24 (Agency) The Customs officials have seized 40 gold biscuits worth Rs 2.5 crore and unaccounted foreign money valued at Rs 94 lakh during raids at two separate private offices in the central part of Kolkata, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the Customs sleuths had received a specific input following which a raid was conducted at a foreign exchange-cum-travelling office at Marquis Street on Saturday. During the raid, around 40 gold biscuits were unearthed and some employees have been detained. A follow-up investigation led the Customs officials to conduct another raid at another private office in the neighbourhood. Here, unaccounted foreign money valued at Rs 94 lakh was recovered, police added.
