Mumbai, Sep 23 (FN Agency) The stock market closed in green territory on Thursday, with Sensex gaining 958 points while Nifty jumping 276.30 points. Both the benchmark indices touched a fresh record high level intraday. At the close of the session, the 30 share BSE Index gained 958.03 points or 1.63 per cent at 59,885.36 per cent while NSE Nifty jumped 276.30 points or 1.57 per cent at 17,822.95. Among the pack of 30 stocks at BSE, Dr Reddy, ITC, Nestle, Hindustan Uniliver and Bharati Airtel were among the top draggers while Bajaj Finance, LT, HDFC, Axis Bank, SBI, Reliance were among the top gainers.
At NSE, HDFC, Dr Reddy, JSW Steel, Tata Consumer, ITC, Nestle were among the top draggers whereas Bajaj Finance, Hindalco, LT, Tata Motors, Coal India, HDFC, Axis Bank were among the top gainers. Realty index registered a gain of nearly nine per cent. Other indices like IT, metal, Bank, capital goods, oil and gas jumped one per cent each. BSE mid cap gained 323.16 points or 1.28 per cent while small cap rose 252.82 points or 0.91 per cent to close at 28,108.92 The Sensex, which opened at 59,358.18, registered day’s high and low at 59,957.25 and 59,243.15 respectively. Similarly, the Nifty, which opened at 17,670.85, recorded day’s high and low at 17,843.90 and 17,646.55 points respectively.
