India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council Agreement will take ties to new heights: Jaishankar

New York, Sep 23 (Representative) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday congratulated his Saudi Arabian counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud and the government and people of Saudi Arabia on their national day and said the Strategic Partnership Council Agreement will help take bilateral relations to new heights. “Warmest congratulations to FM HH Prince @FaisalbinFarhan and the Government and people of Saudi Arabia on their National Day. “Our Strategic Partnership Council will help take this multifaceted relationship to new heights,” he said in a tweet.

Prince Faisal was in New Delhi on Sunday and held talks with EAM Jaishankar during which both sides had a “very useful exchange of views” on the developments in Afghanistan, the Gulf and the Indo-Pacific and also reviewed the implementation of the bilateral Strategic Partnership Council Agreement. The Strategic Partnership Council Agreement was signed between the two sides in October 2019 during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Riyadh, and covers cooperation across different sectors.
