Hyderabad, Jul 1 (Agency) Maganti Bhabji Rao, Wanaparthy district Forest Officer was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials at his office on Wednesday evening when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs 3 lakh from VNR Seeds owner Vadde Nagaraju. The bribe was accepted by the officer from Nagaraj to pass the bills for an amount of Rs 13.72 lakh for the plants supplied under MGNREGS.
The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Bhabji Rao, who is also the incharge of Jogulamba Gadwal district office, ACB said in a release here. The accused officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The accused officer Bhabji Rao was being arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
